Winds of optimism seem to be (finally) blowing among travelers from the four corners of the globe, forced for too long into a forced abstention from travel.
At least this is clear from the latest research by Booking.com , conducted on over 28,000 travelers in 28 countries around the world.
The desire to explore new destinations, taste local Phone Number List cuisines, get lost among museums and endless parks is felt urgently, according to data collected by OTA. An urgency such as to subvert the scale of priorities in the lives of many people.
After more than a year of restrictions, travelers are starting to have concrete hope of moving around safely again, thanks to the confidence boost of the vaccination campaign around the world and the new prevention measures against Covid-19
Vaccines at the basis of optimism
The pandemic is far from over, that's for sure, but we can see the light at the end of the long tunnel: two thirds of travelers around the world (66%) and 7 out of 10 Italians (72%) have greater hopes of being able to travel to 2021 for the massive commitment of the scientific community and the large-scale rollout of the vaccine. This notable portion of users felt extremely limited in 2020 and are eager to regain their lost miles over the next few months.
The cornerstone of this proactivity is the trust placed in vaccines , so much so that over half of travelers (59%) and 57% of our compatriots do not intend to travel across the border before having been vaccinated and more than half of them will only do so to nations with vaccination plans launched. The rosy vision of the future is slightly clouded by a minority of skeptics (41%), not at all convinced that vaccination campaigns can truly make travel safer.
Arjan Dijk, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Booking.com, states: “We remain optimistic that, in the not too distant future, everyone will be able to travel again and discover the world together. Even if we begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel, we continue to be committed to supporting everyone on the path that will lead us to travel again, safely, collaborating with all operators in the sector to guarantee its recovery and a better future."
